Our Story
Three moments, out of a few thousand, that got us to Karen.
First
It started with a disagreement over a Sauti Sol song at a friend's rooftop braai in Kilimani. Wanjiru said the new single was overproduced. Kevin disagreed loudly enough that she noticed him. They talked until the charcoal went cold.
Then
Kevin said it was for the sunrise. It was for the ring, tucked in his jacket since 4 a.m. and slightly too warm from nerves. Wanjiru said yes before he finished the sentence, with all of Nairobi waking up beneath them.
Now
Family from Nyeri and Kisumu, friends from four different continents, and one very long dance floor. This is where the story gets loud — and we'd love for you to be in the room for it.
Ceremony begins 3:00 PM sharp
The Day
Warm neutrals and earth tones — terracotta, olive, sand, gold. It's grass underfoot, so a wedge beats a stiletto. White is reserved for the bride (just this once — she'll share by the next party).
Getting There
Everything you need to arrive relaxed, not rushed.
Marula Lane, off Ngong Road, Karen · Nairobi
Take Ngong Road straight through to Karen — about 35–45 minutes depending on traffic. Leave by 1:45 PM to be seated in good time for a 3 PM start.
Follow the A104 onto the Southern Bypass and exit at Karen. Give yourself the whole morning — the bypass moves well before midday but slows after.
Free guest parking on-site — marshals in green sashes will wave you in from the main gate. If the lot fills, overflow parking is 200m down Marula Lane; we'll have signage and someone to walk you in.
Staying Over
Quiet garden rooms, walking distance to a good breakfast spot. Ask for the wedding rate.
Self-catering cottages — good for families travelling with kids or grandparents.
Budget-friendly and social — a good fit if you're travelling with the university crew.
